Our Team

  • Holly Foxall (she/her) is an optimist and a feminist and believes that her time and energy are best spent working on initiatives that have a positive impact on the world.

Holly holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Environmental Science from Queen’s University, and a Master in Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Sobey School of Business, where she wrote her thesis on gender and entrepreneurship funding.

As the Program Director of Action Now Atlantic, Holly hopes to combine her love for Atlantic Canada and post-secondary education with her passion for sexual violence prevention. Holly is a co-founder of We Worthy Women, and intends to use her interdisciplinary background and previous experience to promote a culture of consent on campus and in communities, and ultimately make post-secondary institutions a place where everyone feels safe.

Through collaboration and community engagement, Holly hopes that this initiative will play a part in ending sexual and gender-based violence at post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada and beyond.

  • Emma Kuzmyk (she/her) is a stubborn believer in a utopian future that is gentle, nurturing, and free from violence.

Emma graduated from St. Francis Xavier University where she completed a degree in English and concentrated her studies on the power of worldbuilding in feminist science fiction as a form of activism.

During her time at St.FX, Emma became very involved in the fight against sexual violence, which she is very happy to be joining again as the Program Coordinator for Action Now Atlantic. A co-founder of the StFX Peer Support Program and Writing Activism, Emma is familiar with some of the challenges that come with fighting for change within post-secondary institutions and hopes that this initiative will be able to take some of the burden off of current students, who should never have to fight to have a safe learning environment.

Grounded in the firm belief that a better world is possible, Emma plans to continue to imagine and work towards a future without sexual violence.

  • Madeline Whittaker (she/her) is an intersectional feminist and human rights advocate. Her work is driven by the belief that combating human rights violations and inequalities in all sectors of society will lead to a more prosperous, inclusive, and peaceful world.

Madeline graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in International Business. Her passion for social justice and the international protection of human rights led her to study Law at Bond University in Australia. She looks forward to a future dedicated to advancing the rights and women and girls.

As the Co-Founder of We Worthy Women and the Legal Advisor of Action Now Atlantic, Madeline uses her comprehensive research, analytical, and strategic skills, honed through internships at both the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to raise awareness and fight against impunity for sexual and gender-based violence at postsecondary institutions.
